What causes Periodontal Disease?

It is mainly results from infections and inflammation of the gums and bone that surround and support the teeth. In its early stages it is called Gingivitis, where by the gums become swollen and red and may bleed. Gingivitis and Periodontitis are both types of Periodontal Disease. Gingivitis is reversible, while Periodontitis is not.
